Charlie's Hard Times BBQ and Hot Sauce

Keeping April 15th in mind we're putting this BBQ and Hot Sauce together in a package that you can't beat!!  I always laugh out loud when I look at this label! A former Wall Street broker who is now just broke (with the “R” crossed out) has come upon hard times and is begging in the street. (hot sauce) or sitting in front of a fire barrel on Wall Street (BBQ Sauce).

The label states "Let's face it.  These are hard times.  So to help keep everyone in the sauce until we get through this mess, Sauce Crafter's has created the delicious line of "Charlies Hard Times" sauces.  They are rich in flavor, not in price.  so take some home and enjoy - and tell your friends to do the same.  After all, we doubt we'll ever see any of the government's bailout package.

We've worked long and hard over a hot stove - admittedly - with a number of beers - to bring to you the first Peppers of Key West green hot sauce.  It is so new we haven't had a good picture taken of it yet.  We decided to use the often ignored Serrano pepper as the featured chili and blended it with a healthy dose of vinegar.  As this is my first sauce creation  this sauce has very few ingredients (7 to be specific).

The sauce is a purists dream with only Vinegar, Serrano Peppers, Salt, Sugar, Garlic, Xanthan Gum (as a stabilizer) and Sorbic Acid (as the preservative).  If you are familiar with our other sauces, regarding heat, this our Serrano sauce is slightly hotter than our Habanero sauce (old #2) but not quite as hot as our ghost pepper sauce.

All in all, we are very happy with the way it turned out and hope you are as well!
If you are a long time member of our newsletter family you may remember this story from a long time ago.  As it is tax time I thought we could all use another laugh; after all, misery does enjoy company!  This is the story of Frank - an inexperienced Chili taster at a Texas Chili Cook-off.

Note:  Please take the time to read this slowly.  If you pay attention to the first two judges, Frank's reaction is even more hilarious!

Judge #3 (Frank) was visiting from Elizabethtown, PA.  Before the chili cook-off Frank made the following statement.  "Recently I was honored to be selected as a judge at a chili cook-off.  The original person called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table, asking for directions to the nearest beer establishment.  I was assured by the other two judges (native Texans) that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy; and, besides, they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted and became Judge #3.
